Gatibu is officially announcing that at 20:30 on Friday, 29th May the group will be going to Athletic City in Barcelona because of the Cup Final to be played the next day between Athletic Club and Barcelona.
This way the group will be able to put the past behind it: three years ago the Partido Popular of Madrid refused to give Athletic City the permits it needed to be able to open and forced it to cancel all the events which had been programmed for the night before the Cup Final then. On that occasion, the Cup Final was also between Athletic Club and the same team as this year. Back then groups such as A Pelo y Tú, Iggy & The Stooges, Marky Ramone Blitzkrieg and Gatibu weren’t able to play their concerts.
So the hope is that there’ll be more luck next Friday and a great programme – including the Catalans Bon Scott Band and the Canadians Danko Jones – has been announced.
Athletic City is an area of 20,000 square metres between Plaça Carles Buigas, Plaça Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Plaça de les Cascades, next to the fountains in Montjuic. There will be eight bars selling food and drink, a stage for the concerts, a giant screen for watching the final and a general Athletic Club display. Entrance is free, doors open at 17:00 on 29th May and the programme for the following two days is:
